The City Sikhs Network focuses on 5 keys areas of work. These include:
Professional and Social Networking
A chance to network with Sikh people from all kinds of academic and professional careers in various social environments.
Career Mentoring
There are many Sikhs who have achieved great success within their professional fields and some of these Sikhs have chosen to share their wisdom and experience with others. So we provide both careers talks for students and a one-to-one career mentoring service for working professionals.
Faith Representation
We provide media, corporate bodies, Interfaith and other organisations access to Sikh people to talk on Careers, Personal Development, Sikhism, South Asian cultural heritage or any other topics where a Sikh voice is desired.
Personal Development
The word “Sikh” means “a learner” and so at City Sikhs we support and host events which share wisdom on Healthy living, Spirituality etc.
Volunteering
Sikh people have a rich tradition of volunteering known as “seva” which is the giving of ones time to a cause that will help create a fairer world. Everyone is very busy in today’s world so we work with a number of different charities and groups to create seva opportunities that are compatible with the working schedules of busy city professionals.
